Pond
smells of peppermint decay
Dead sheep surfacing with
Stomach blown up to
threefold globe
Frogs gurgling
Then,
comfortable in the dark
I squat and watch the ponds surface
Trying to feel
unified
At peace with the world
But always feeling painfully isolated,
Now,
looking back I envy my old self,
Always at risk, treading, it seems, a fresher
ground,
Despair always by my side, now,
Having probed my fathers' heart,
I
